WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ben Olsen scored in the third minute of injury time to give DC United a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Fire on Saturday night in Major League Soccer.
Olsen, who set up Jaime Moreno's tying goal a minute earlier,
gathered a centering pass from Marco Etcheverry to beat Chicago
goalkeeper Chris Snitko.
The Fire took a 2-1 lead in the 85th minute on Jesse Marsch's
goal off a give-and-go play with Ante Razov.
Chicago defender Andrew Lewis was given a red card in the 69th
minute for charging into Moreno. There were 33 fouls and five
yellow cards in the physical game in the rain-drenched field.
Jeff Maessner gave DC (1-2) its first lead of the season in the
22nd minute when he blasted a shot into the net past Snitko.
Chicago (1-3) tied it in first-half injury time when Hristo
Stoitchkov sent an indirect free kick through a wall of defenders
and past United goalkeeper Tom Presthus. The goal was Stoitchkov's
third in as many games for the Fire.
