FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) _ The Miami Fusion spoiled German star Lothar Matthaus' debut in Major League Soccer. Roy Lassiter, Eric Wynalda and Diego Serna scored goals as the Fusion beat the New York-New Jersey MetroStars 3-1 on Sunday. ``This game proved that you must work 90 minutes,'' said Matthaus, 39, the two-time German player of the year who has appeared in a World Cup-record 144 games. ``Soccer is good in America. You have good players all over the league.'' Wynalda gave Miami a 2-1 lead in the 51st minute, beating goalkeeper Mike Amman with a header off a corner kick. Serna made it 3-1 in the 64th minute. Lassiter opened the scoring in the 16th minute, increasing his MLS-record goal total to 74. ``The depth of this team is amazing,'' Wynalda said. ``If we manage to control the egos and keep our heads straight, we could be one of the best teams in the league.'' Alex Comas scored for the MetroStars.
