May 12, 2000

A pair of GO.com (NYSE:GO) sites, ESPN.com and ABCNEWS.com, garnered three awards at last night's 2000 Webby Awards ceremony in San Francisco. The Webby's, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, are divided into 27 categories including sports, news, travel, finance and politics.

ESPN.com was awarded the 2000 Webby Award for sports, as voted on by a select group of industry executives, as well as the People's Voice Award, as voted by Internet users. ABCNEWS.com collected the People's Voice Award in the news category.

Considered to be the "Oscars of the Internet" by worldwide media, the awards were presented and judged by the 350-person International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. An additional 130,000 votes were cast online in the Webby Awards' People's Voice campaign.

"The fact that ESPN.com was recognized the top sports site by both critics and users alike speaks volumes," said John Skipper, senior vice president and general manager, ESPN Internet Group. "It's a real testament to our team and their dedication to producing the premier sports Web site. We couldn't be more pleased."

"Winning the 2000 People's Voice Webby Award is a tremendous honor," said Bernard Gershon, vice president and general manager of ABCNEWS.com. "It is especially gratifying because this award was given to us by the general public, those who consider us their top online source for news."
