CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Florida Panthers left wing Kristian Huselius, who scored 23 goals as a rookie last season, will be sidelined at least a month with a sprained MCL in his left leg.

Huselius suffered the injury when he collided with center Byron Ritchie in a scrimmage on Friday.

"To happen the first day of camp, of course it's disappointing," Huselius told the Sun-Sentinel. I hope to play by the opening game, but you never know."

The Panthers open the regular season on October 10 against Tampa Bay.
