BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) _ Ziggy Palffy and Mathieu Schneider scored goals as the Los Angeles Kings beat the San Jose Sharks 4-1 in an exhibition game Saturday night at Centennial Garden.

Schneider gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead 46 seconds into the third period when he ripped in a slap shot during a power play.

Palffy put the Kings up 3-1 at 4:07 when he stole the puck deep in San Jose's zone and lifted a wrist shot over the shoulder of goaltender Evgeni Nabokov. Kelly Buchberger scored late in the third period for LA.

The Kings (3-2-0) took a 1-0 lead 13 minutes into in the second period when Bob Corkum scored.

San Jose (2-1) got its lone goal from Matt Bradley in the second period.

Jamie Storr played the first two periods in goal for Los Angeles with Marcel Cousineau playing the third. Stephen Fiset, who sprained his knee in a 3-2 loss on Friday night to Anaheim, has been listed as week to week by the club.
