TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Olli Jokinen had a goal and assist and Trevor Kidd made two key saves as the Florida Panthers held on for a 2-1 exhibition victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning in a marred by a wild brawl.

Jokinen, who came over from the New York Islanders in a four-player offseason trade, snapped a 1-1 tie midway through the second period by one-timing Rocky Thompson's pass from behind the net past goaltender Dan Cloutier.

Jokinen also set up Ivan Novoseltsev's power-play goal midway through the first period that lifted Florida into a 1-1 deadlock. It was Novoseltsev's third preseason goal.

Kidd, who came in with just under six minutes left in the second period, made the lead stand up with late glove saves on defenseman Paul Mara and Brian Holzinger. He turned aside all 15 shots he faced after rookie starter Sean Gauthier made 11 saves.

The game took an ugly turn with 5:54 remaining in the second period. Four separate fights took place near the Florida blue line, including Cloutier coming out to challenge Gauthier. Thompson was assessed a double game misconduct for his part in the brawl.

The teams engaged in a fight-filled contest on March 10 at Tampa Bay, with Lightning coach Steve Ludzik challenging Florida enforcer Peter Worrell.

Mike Johnson scored a power-play goal and Cloutier stopped 16 shots for Tampa Bay.

Florida, which got a hat trick from Pavel Bure in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over Carolina, remained unbeaten at 3-0-1.

The game was played before 10,004 at the Ice Palace.
