NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Tomas Vokoun stopped 34 shots and Sergei Krivokrasov scored a goal and set up another as the Nashville Predators avoided a winless preseason with a 2-0 blanking of the expansion Atlanta Thrashers.

Vokoun went the distance, stopping 10 shots in the first period, 15 in the second and nine in the third.

Krivokrasov gave the Predators the only goal they needed with 10:25 left in the first. He took a pass from Greg Johnson on the doorstep and tapped the puck past goaltender Damian Rhodes.

David Legwand, the second overall pick in the 1998 draft, got his second preseason goal 6:29 into the second, wristing a shot past Rhodes netminder from the slot. Johnson picked up his second assist.

Nashville finished the exhibition season with a 1-5-3 mark and opens the regular season on Saturday against Los Angeles.

The Thrashers posted a 3-4-1 preseason mark. They begin their inaugural season on Saturday against New Jersey.
