CHICAGO (AP) -- After a shaky start, the Chicago Blackhawks used a strong finish to pull out a 5-4 overtime victory over the Boston Bruins on Thursday night. Steve Sullivan scored 1:39 into overtime to cap a late comeback and give Chicago its first four-game winning streak this season. Sullivan, at the edge of the crease, redirected Michael Nylander's pass from the corner past Boston goalie Rob Tallas. "Michael made the play," Sullivan said. "It was a great pass. I just wanted to make sure I got it on the net and it went in the five-hole." The Blackhawks fell behind 2-0 early in the first period and trailed 4-2 midway through the third. However a goal by Tony Amonte with 7:16 left made it 4-3. Boris Mironov then scored from the edge of the crease with 13.7 seconds remaining and goalie Jocelyn Thibault on the bench to force overtime. "We made some mistakes early, but stuck with the plan and remained confident," Blackhawks associate coach Lorne Molleken said. "We were fortunate to come back in the third." Nylander had a goal and two assists, while Michal Grosek also scored for Chicago. Grosek's goal was his first since the Blackhawks acquired him from Buffalo on March 10. Sergei Samsonov had a goal and an assist for Boston. Ken Belanger, Mike Knuble and Joe Thornton also scored for the Bruins, who hadn't played since Saturday at Montreal. "We lost this game because we deserved to lose," Boston coach Pat Burns said. "We gave them the game on a silver platter. We stopped playing after 10 minutes. We thought it was going to be easy." Boston, which outshot Chicago 38-27, held an 11-1 shot advantage in the opening nine minutes and led 2-0 by 5:20 of the first on goals by Belanger and Samsonov, who scored 41 seconds apart. Belanger and Samsonov converted loose rebounds from the crease and lifted them past Thibault. Grosek cut it to 2-1 with 4:59 left in the first when his back-hand deflection slid through Tallas. Knuble gave the Bruins a 3-1 lead at 7:24 of the second by completing a 2-on-1 break with Brian Rolston. Nylander trimmed it to 3-2 with 5:29 left in the second, but Thornton restored Boston's two-goal lead, 4-2, by chipping in a rebound with 2:04 left in the period. | ALSO SEE NHL Scoreboard Boston Clubhouse Chicago Clubhouse RECAPS NY Islanders 4 Atlanta 2
