ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Guy Hebert did his own advance scouting to get ready for the Nashville Predators.

Hebert made 33 saves for 26th career shutout as the Anaheim Mighty Ducks beat the Nashville Predators 1-0 on Sunday.

"I sat at home watching most of their game against the Kings last night and they just kept on coming," Hebert said. "They've got guys who can put the puck in the net, so I wanted to be prepared and not be surprised by anything."

The closest the Predators came to scoring was when defenseman Drake Berehowsky hit the right post with a one-timer midway through the first period.

"My defensemen and forwards really did a good job of letting me see the pucks," said Hebert, who has four shutouts this season. "On a few shots from the point, they really sealed off the guys at the side and let me take the lane right down the middle where the puck was going. And when that happens, you should stop it."

Johan Davidsson scored hours after being promoted to the NHL to send Nashville to its fourth straight defeat and 11th in 13 games.

The Ducks got some help on the game's only goal. Nashville's Sergei Krivokrasov turned the puck over inside his own blue line and Davidsson's shot from the left point got through Tomas Vokoun, who was screened, with 2:50 left in the second.

The goal ended a 42-game drought for Davidsson, dating to Dec. 9, 1998 when he scored twice against Vancouver. He has four goals in 65 career NHL games and tallied nine goals and 30 assists in 55 contests this season for Cincinnati of the AHL.

"I got credit for the goal, but it was really the whole line that did it," Davidsson said. "It was really fun to be here and it was fun to score a goal. I don't really have that many of them, but it's been a while. I don't remember the last one. I have a weak memory."

Anaheim left wing Paul Kariya missed his seventh consecutive game because of a bruised right foot, leaving the Predators free to shadow Teemu Selanne.

It was the 72nd time that Selanne played without Kariya, since joining the Ducks in Feb. 1996, and the 30th time he has failed to record a goal or an assist. In eight games without Kariya this season, Selanne has been held pointless six times.

"They work so great together and they read off of each other so well, it's tougher to cover both of them," Anaheim's Ted Donato said. "If one of them is not playing, the other guy is a little bit different in his game.

"But Teemu has played defensively for us in the last few games. And when Paul's not playing, he uses his speed backchecking and causes a lot of commotion."

The Predators, whose last six defeats have been by one goal, were shut out for the fourth time this season. The loss capped a frustrating four-day stay in California for the second-year expansion team.

Nashville built a 3-1 lead at San Jose on Friday night, only to lose 4-3 after getting just two shots in the final 35 minutes. The Predators lost in overtime to Los Angeles on a goal that deflected off Berehowsky's stick.

"Everybody's down, but you have to stay positive and take the good with the bad," Nashville forward Tom Fitzgerald said. "We're not playing bad hockey, we're just not getting wins. It's just a matter of staying with it and not letting the losing take its toll."
