DALLAS (AP) -- The Vancouver Canucks hadn't managed a third-period rally all season. On Friday night, they found out how much fun a comeback victory can be.

Donald Brashear scored the go-ahead goal with 7:03 left as the Canucks rallied to beat the Dallas Stars 3-1.

	Harry York and Vancouver got the best of Brett Hull and the Stars on Friday night in Dallas.

The Canucks had won only twice in their previous 18 games and were 0-12-0 when trailing after two periods.

Vancouver faced a 1-0 deficit at the start of the third period, but scored three goals in a 9:46 span.

"It's a great win for us," Brashear said. "We've tried to fight through this in the third period, put some pucks on the net, get some rebounds. We needed some ugly goals."

Brashear's shot from the slot qualified as an ugly goal, deflecting off the skate of Stars defenseman Jamie Pushor and past goalie Ed Belfour.

"I tried to rush the net and was in the right place," Brashear said. "I was able to get it at the net hard and it deflected off the skate."

Alexander Mogilny scored from the right circle 2:04 later.

Dallas held a 1-0 lead after two periods on Kirk Muller's power-play goal in the first period, but Vancouver tied it with 14:45 left on Todd Bertuzzi's goal.

Garth Snow stopped 31 shots for the Canucks. Snow made a difficult save against Brendan Morrow with 9:30 left while the Stars were on a power play.

"This is a big lift for us," Snow said. "When we've been behind at the start of the third period before, we've had some breaks go against us. Tonight things went right for us."

The Stars had an 11-2 shots advantage in the second period, but Snow kept it a one-goal game.

Muller said his team seemed satisfied with the one goal.

"We tried to win a 1-0 game tonight and you can't do that in this league," Muller said. "If you do, you're playing with fire. We should have had a killer instinct, but instead we tried to sneak out with two points."

Stars defenseman Brad Lukowich left the game in the first period because of a mild concussion. Dallas left wing Jere Lehtinen also was sidelined in the first period by an ankle injury. Both players will be evaluated on Saturday.
