| Injury updates for Wild Card weekend By John Clayton ESPN.com Here's the latest on key injuries going into Wild Card weekend:
The Jets have no injury concerns. The only question involves punter Matt Turk, who is probable with a stomach ailment. Turk practiced Thursday.
The Packers had wide receiver Donald Driver on the practice field Thursday, giving him some hope of playing Saturday. He's questionable with a shoulder injury. Strong safety Darren Sharper was limited to straight-ahead drills Thursday. He's more questionable than Driver because he hasn't been able to do any cutting on the knee injury. Cornerback Tod McBride doesn't appear to be ready. He missed Wednesday's and Thursday's workouts with his groin injury. Antuan Edwards would replace him in the nickel defense. Wide receiver Robert Ferguson, probable with a back injury, practiced Thursday after being out Wednesday.
Steelers cornerback Chad Scott (broken hand), who did not practice on Friday, has been listed as doubtful. Linebacker Kendrell Bell (ankle) did not practice and has not practiced all week.
The 49ers placed linebacker Jamie Winborn on the injured reserve list Thursday to make room for kick-returner Vinny Sutherland. Winborn has been fighting a knee injury all season. Guard Ron Stone and cornerback Jason Webster -- questionable with ankle injuries -- didn't practice Thursday and remain questionable for Sunday. Each hopes to try out their legs Friday. Linebacker Saleem Rasheed didn't practice Thursday and remains questionable with a thigh injury. Wide receiver Terrell Owens, who has missed two games with a groin injury, practiced Thursday and will be able to play. Free safety Zack Bronson has returned to the starting lineup for the first time since mid October after recovering from a broken foot. Defensive end Sean Moran, probable with a knee injury, didn't practiced Thursday but is listed as probable. John Clayton is a senior NFL writer for ESPN.com. |
