Jones reinjures groin, Tucker fills in
Associated Press

NEW ORLEANS -- St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Rod Jones reinjured his groin on Ty Law's second-quarter interception return in the Super Bowl Sunday night, and apparently was out for the rest of the game.

Jones was hurt in the NFC championship game last week, but practiced all week without a problem. He was among several players pursuing Law as he raced down the sideline on a 47-yard TD, but pulled up short at about the 20.

Jones reported late for the second half, missing the kickoff. He was limping noticeably.

Jones was replaced by Ryan Tucker, the starting right tackle before spraining his left ankle in the regular-season finale Jan. 6. He played in a reserve role in the NFC championship game after All-Pro Orlando Pace injured his right knee.

Tucker started the second half.

Pace played Sunday wearing a knee brace.

The Rams also started Dre' Bly at cornerback to start the second half ahead of Dexter McCleon. McCleon was beaten on Tom Brady's 8-yard touchdown pass to David Patten at the end of the first half.
