PHILADELPHIA -- Quarterback Tim Hasselbeck and free safety Clinton Hart were added to the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad on Tuesday. To make room on the practice squad, the Eagles released offensive lineman Patrick Venzke and safety Julian Jones. Hasselbeck and Hart played with the Eagles during the preseason but were released before the start of the regular season. Hasselbeck adds depth at quarterback because Donovan McNabb broke his right ankle in Sunday's victory over Arizona. He completed 23 of 32 passes (71.9 percent) for 200 yards and one touchdown in four preseason games for the Eagles. He was signed to Carolina's practice squad last month and was later promoted to their 53-man roster, but got released a week later. Hart played for the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League last season and spent most of training camp with the Eagles before being released. |
