ST. LOUIS -- Kurt Warner made a brief return for the St. Louis Rams.
Warner played one series Monday night when quarterback Marc Bulger went to the locker room for X-rays on his right index finger in the second quarter against Chicago.
After Warner played three downs, Bulger returned with 6:09 to go in the half when X-rays were negative.
Bulger apparently was injured when he was stripped by Rosevelt Colvin in the first quarter, losing a fumble. He played one series in the second quarter before leaving.
Warner missed five games with a broken pinkie and entered the game as the backup. Team doctors didn't want Warner to play this week because the injury is still healing.
Warner got a huge ovation when he led the offense on the field with 9:47 to go in the half. He was sacked by Keith Traylor and Philip Daniels on his first play, threw behind Torry Holt on second down, and hit Isaac Bruce for a 13-yard pass on third down before the Rams were forced to punt. |
