Running back might avoid prosecution

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office has declined to prosecute Arizona Cardinals running back Michael Pittman for his latest run-in with the law.

A spokesman said on Friday the case has been referred to the Tempe City Attorney's Office, which now will determine whether to file any charges.

Tempe police arrested Pittman Saturday night for investigation of criminal damage related to domestic violence and criminal trespassing.

He was accused of breaking the sliding glass door to his estranged wife's apartment. Police say he then got into a shoving match with another man.

Pittman said he saw his wife and the man on a bed together.

Pittman was arrested three weeks ago for investigation of disorderly conduct after getting into argument with his wife.
