Week 7 wrap-ups

Steelers 34, Titans 7
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ...
The Steelers added to a 10-point halftime lead with two TDs in the third quarter, sealing this one. Steelers WR Plaxico Burress. You could give it to Kordell Stewart, too, but Burress grabbed six catches for 151 yards and showed he could be a big-play force in the NFL.
UP NEXT: Titans (2-4) vs. Jaguars (2-4)   |    Steelers (5-1) vs. Ravens (4-3)

Saints 34, Rams 31
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
John Carney kicked a 27-yard field goal with a tick left on the clock to cap New Orleans' 18-point comeback victory. Rams QB Kurt Warner. Surprised? Well, out of his four interceptions on the day, the Saints converted two into third-quarter TDs to spark their rally. The Rams' defense didn't fall apart in the second half -- the offense kept giving the Saints a short field. When you turn the ball over, especially against a good team, it's going to hurt you.
UP NEXT: Saints (4-2) vs. Jets (4-3)   |    Rams (6-1) -- BYE

Bears 37, 49ers 31, OT
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Mike Brown ran back an interception 33 yards for the winning touchdown in overtime after the Bears had trailed 28-9 at one point. Bears rookie WR David Terrell. He finished with just three catches for 19 yards, but two of them were fourth-quarter TDs that helped Chicago force OT. Give credit to the Bears on both sides of the ball. Shane Matthews came in at QB when the Bears were behind and brought them back. And Chicago's defense stopped the 49ers time after time in the second half.
UP NEXT: Bears (5-1) vs. Browns (4-2)   |    49ers (4-2) vs. Lions (0-6)

Bengals 31, Lions 27
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Corey Dillion scored on a 1-yard run with 8:06 left in the game and took away the Lions' only lead of the game. It capped a 13-play, 85-yard drive that took 7:38 off the clock. Cincy's Corey Dillion, who ran for 184 yards on 27 carries and scored three TDs. How valuable is he to his team? The Bengals are 9-0 when Dillion rushes for more than 130 yards. After getting blanked by the Bears last week, the Bengals really needed a big game from Corey Dillion. When he runs effectively, he makes Jon Kitna a better QB, giving the Bengals a strong play-action pass option.
UP NEXT: Bengals (4-3) -- BYE   |    Lions (0-6) vs. Niners (4-2)

Buccaneers 41, Vikings 14
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
By the end of the first half. Mike Alstott scored two of his three touchdowns before the half to help the Bucs take a 28-0 lead. The Vikings never recovered from that early deficit. The Bucs' offense. While its defense held the Vikings, Tampa Bay's offense scored on seven straight possessions to take a huge lead. And QB Brad Johnson threw for two TDs. Tampa Bay defensively shut down the run and got after Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper. They took Minnesota out of the game, and the Vikings reverted to bickering and being upset with each other.
UP NEXT: Bucs (3-3) at Packers (4-2)   |    Vikings (3-4) --BYE

Jets 13, Panthers 12
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
John Hall kicked a 34-yard field goal with 4:54 left to give the Jets their first lead since the first quarter. This lead they would not lose. The Carolina offense, which helped the Jets on Sunday. The Panthers failed to convert any of the Jets' four turnovers into TDs and tallied just 162 yards against the league's worst defense. The Jets pulled off the win, but their No. 1 priority still has to be improve the defense, so New York can get the ball back more quickly and give Curtis Martin more opportunities.
UP NEXT: Jets (4-3) at Saints (4-2)   |    Panthers (1-6) at Dolphins (4-2)

Ravens 18, Jaguars 17
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Qadry Ismail caught a 2-yard pass from Randall Cunningham in the fourth quarter. It capped an eight-play, 56-yard drive. Backup QB Randall Cunningham, who played for the injured Elvis Grbac. Cunningham went 23-for-31 for 222 yards and led two fourth-quarter drives to cap Baltimore's comeback victory. It's a win, and the Ravens needed a win desperately. But they weren't dominant on either side of the line of scrimmage. So they're happy with the win, but not with the performance.
UP NEXT: Ravens (4-3) at Steelers (4-1)   |    Jaguars (2-4) at Titans (2-3)

Redskins 35, Giants 21
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Brett Conway converted a 43-yard field goal to give the Redskins a 17-14 lead right before the half. Washington would never trailed in this one and built its lead from there. Punt returner Eric Metcalf. Signed last week afetr sitting out all of last season, Metcalf ran back his first ball 89 yards for a TD to give Washington a 14-0 lead in the first. The Giants are in a funk. New York appears to be still feeling the effects of the Eagles' loss and apparently haven't recovered yet from it. The Redskins caught them at the perfect time.
UP NEXT: Redskins (2-5) vs. Seahawks (3-3)   |    Giants (3-4) vs. Cowboys (2-4)

Cowboys 17, Cardinals 3
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Dexter Coakley's 10-yard interception return for a touchdown that put the game away for good for the Cowboys in the third quarter. The Dallas defense, which held Arizona to 75 yards on the ground. In fact, the Cowboys have yet to allow a team to rush for more than 100 yards in a game this season. The Cowboys' defense created turnovers. Cardinals QB Jake Plummer got back to his old habit of throwing interceptions -- one for a touchdown -- and that never bodes well for Arizona.
UP NEXT: Cowboys (2-4) vs. Giants (3-4)   |    Cardinals (2-4) vs. Eagles (3-3)

Broncos 31, Patriots 20
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Dwayne Carswell caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Brian Griese with 3:35 left in the third quarter to give the Broncos a 24-20 lead -- their first edge of the game. Denver WR Rod Smith, who caught six passes for 159 yards. His 65-yard touchdown reception from Griese also helped the Broncos pull within three in the third. This kind of game was bound to happen for Tom Brady. When you have a first-time starter, there will be some bumps. Give credit to the Broncos, who confused Brady with different coverages and good pressure.
UP NEXT: Broncos (4-3) at Raiders (5-1)   |    Patriots (3-4) at Falcons (3-3)

Raiders 20, Eagles 10
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Considering the Raiders ate up 40:09 of clock time, did Philly literally ever have a chance? Oakland also ended Donovan McNabb's touchdown-passing streak at nine games. The Raiders' defense, which didn't allow the Eagles to convert on third down until the last five minutes of the game and held Philly to 195 total yards. The Raiders are the best team in the NFL by far right now, because they're so physical. Oakland dominated from start to finish, and outhit the Eagles and beat the Eagles at their own game.
UP NEXT: Raiders (5-1) vs. Broncos (4-3)   |    Eagles (3-3) at Cardinals (2-4)

Chargers 27, Bills 24
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Doug Flutie scored the go-ahead touchdown for the Chargers, but Ed Ellis' block on Jake Arians' 44-yard FG attempt with seven second left sealed San Diego's win. Flutie, who again rose to the occasion. The QB scrambled and scored on a 13-yard run with 1:10 left to give the Chargers a 27-24 lead over his former team, the Buffalo Bills. Flutie might be the happiest guy between San Diego and Buffalo. What makes it sweet for him is that he was able to win it with less than two minutes on a gutty TD run. That sort of rubbed it in the Bills' faces a bit.
UP NEXT: Chargers (5-2) vs. Chiefs (1-6)   |    Bills (1-5) at Colts (3-3)

Dolphins 24, Seahawks 20
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Vinny Cerrato's analysis
Rian Lindell missed a 28-yard field goal that would have put the Seahawks within one, 24-23, with 1:56 left in the game. Coach Mike Holmgren's strategy backfired. Dolphins QB Jay Fielder, who overcame two interceptions to throw a 39-yard TD pass to James McKnight with 6:16 left to give Miami a 24-20 edge. The Seahawks didn't run the ball that well Sunday, so it was all on Matt Hasselbeck's shoulders. Despite the loss, he performed much better than he did earlier in the season.
UP NEXT: Dolphins (4-2) vs. Panthers (1-6)   |    Seahawks (3-3) at Redskins (2-5)
