| St. Francis (Pa.) Red Flash RECORD: 23-8 COACH: Myndi Hill | SEASON RESULTS | OUTLOOK First round: Lost to Iowa State, 93-63
The Red Flash last week won their fifth straight Northeast Conference tournament title and earned their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. But while St. Francis definitely rules the NEC world, the Red Flash have had little luck in the Big Dance. St. Francis has never won an NCAA Tourney game, and has never fared better on Selection Sunday than a No. 15 seed. The bright spot, however, is 6-foot senior forward Jess Zinobile, who opened the season with a 34-point, 14-rebound performance and was a seven-time NEC Player of the Week this season. Zinobile led the league -- and ranked third in the country through last week -- in scoring (23.2, ), was second in rebounding (12.0) and third in assists (3.8). Key stat: St. Francis has lost its previous four NCAA tourney games by an average of 45 points, including a 97-46 rout by top-seeded UConn in 1999.
