Despite playing in the Sun Belt Conference -- and despite the critics' complaints that it's a weak league -- the Lady Techsters have proven time and again that they're battle-tested when March arrives. This season is no different, and behind the solid play of guards Tamicha Jackson and Betty Lennox, who combine to make one of the quickest if not best backcourts in the nation, a third consecutive trip to the Final Four isn't too far-fetched. Lennox, the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Year, averaged a team-high 17.5 points on 47.8 percent shooting from the field, as well as 3.0 steals and 5.9 rebounds in the regular season. Jackson, the league's Defensive Player of the Year, contributed 15.4 points on 49.7 percent shooting through the regular season. Best yet, La. Tech has defense, too, and ranks 11th in the country in holding opponents to 55.9 points per game. Key stat: Only Tenneessee and the Lady Techsters have appeared in all 19 NCAA Tournaments.
