GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Florida rebounded from its only loss of the season with a dominant 100-54 win over Tennessee State in the opening round of the State Farm Classic.

The Lady Gators, who suffered a 98-62 loss at the hands of Colorado on Friday night, came back with a vengeance, scoring 100 points for the first time this season.

Florida's starting lineup accounted for 87 of its points, led by guard Brandi McCain's 19. Naomi Mobley, Tamara Stocks and Sherisha Hills scored 18 apiece and shot a combined 19-of-26 from the floor.

With five steals apiece, Stocks and Hills anchored the swarming Gator defense, while Mobley single-handedly dominated the boards, pulling down 16.

As a team Florida outrebounded Tennessee State by just nine but dominated inside, outscoring the Lady Tigers 60-22 in the paint.

The only bright spot for Tennessee State (1-8) was forward Angela Hassell, who scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds. But no other player scored more than eight points and the team only shot 29 percent (18-of-62).

Florida (10-1) led 48-37 at the break but Tennessee State's dismal second half sealed its fate. The team shot 16 percent (5-of-31) in the half and only scored 17 points. Their 54 points for the game is their lowest total this year.

It was the worst loss of the season for the Tigers but was not the largest margin of victory for Florida, which has handed out its share of beatings this year.

The rout of Tennessee State was the Gators' fourth of the season by 40 or more. They have won nine of their 10 games by at last 20 points. In five of those games, they have held their opponent under 50.
