WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- North Carolina State continued its early season dominance, winning its eighth game in a row, 70-48 over George Washington.

George Washington, which had averaged 95.5 points in its last two games, was thouroughly shut down by the Wolfpack defense. NC State matched its best defensive performance of the season, also holding Arkansas to 48 points on November 25.

The Colonials' starters committed 24 turnovers alone and George Washington shot just 37 percent (17-of-46) from the floor as a team.

NC State shot 45 percent (26-of-57) from the field and made 15-of-19 free throws, compared to the Colonial's 40 percent (10-of-25). Ugo Oha epitomized George Washington's struggles, going 5-of-14.

Carisse Moody led the Wolfpack with 15 points and pulled down five rebounds while Talisha Scates and Tynesha Lewis scored 12 apiece and combined for 11 boards. Adeola Olanrewaju came off the bench and missed posting a double-double by one rebound, scoring 10 points.

The Colonials (6-5) had only two players scored in double figures as Oha had 11 points to go along with four blocks. Kristeena Alexander added 10 points. Guard Lindsey Davidson scored nine, dished out seven assists and came down with six rebounds.

The Wolfpack (9-1) have won eight in a row and are undefeated at home this season.
