Colorado dominates No. 16 Florida

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Britt Hartshorn had 22 points and 10 rebounds and Mandy Nightingale added 21 points as Colorado beat No. 16 Florida 98-62 on Friday night.

Colorado shot 43-for-49 from the free throw line, setting a school record for both attempts and makes.

Florida shot 8-for-14 from the line and scored 21 fewer points than its season average. The loss was Florida's worst since a 90-50 rout by Purdue on Nov. 26, 1999. Brandi McCain led Florida with 19.

Vanessa Hayden's basket with 8:20 left in the first half gave Florida a 21-20 lead, its last of the game.

Colorado answered with a 9-0 run, including Caroline Koechlin's three-point play on a layup and a foul shot and two free throws by Many Nightingale on Florida coach Carol Ross' technical foul.

Naomi Mobley's follow with 2:52 left in the half pulled Florida within 31-25, but Colorado closed the half with an 11-0 run.

Florida made it 68-48 on a 3-pointer by McCain with 8:40 left, but Hartshorn and Nightingale combined for nine points in a 15-4 run as Colorado put the game out of reach.
