STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Maren Walseth had 27 points and 12 rebounds and Lisa Shepherd added 22 and seven as ninth-ranked Penn State cruised to an 84-64 win over intrastate foe La Salle.

Walseth made 10-of-15 shots and Shepherd 6-of-12 as the Lady Lions shot 44 percent (29-of-66) and recorded their fourth straight win. Penn State is off until beginning Big Ten Conference play on December 28 against Minnesota.

Jennifer Zenszer had 14 points and 11 boards and Laura Newhard scored 14 points in 22 minutes off the bench for La Salle (4-5), which has lost three of its last four. The Explorers trailed by three points at halftime but shot just 31 percent (8-of-26) in the second half.

Kelly Mazzante collected 16 points and eight rebounds for Penn State, which had a 45-34 advantage on the boards.
