KENT, Ohio (Ticker) -- Julie Studer scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Kent State extended its home winning streak to 35 games and likely knocked No. 24 Boston College out of the rankings with a 72-68 victory.

Studer made 8-of-18 shots and 8-of-10 free throws in just 26 minutes. After an 11-2 run got Boston College (5-4) within one point with 4:08 to play, she hit two free throws and added a layup to give Kent State (4-5) a 69-64 lead with 3:26 remaining.

The Eagles pulled within 70-68 on a layup by Jamie Cournoyer with 1:38 left but Studer answered with a layup with 23 ticks remaining, capping the scoring for the Lady Flashes, who had lost five of their previous six games.

Christi Shibata scored 12 points and Carrie Nance added 11 for Kent State, which shot just 37 percent (23-of-62) but forced 20 turnovers and made 9-of-24 3-pointers.

Cournoyer scored 19 points and Rachel Byars added 11 and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, who shot 40 percent (25-of-62) and held a 44-39 rebounding edge.
