SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Ticker) -- Lori Nero had 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead No. 12 Auburn to a 69-66 victory over Arizona in the championship game of the San Juan Shootout.

Nero, the tournament's most valuable player, averaged 20.3 points in three games.

Tasha Hamilton added 17 points and seven rebounds for Auburn (12-0), which is off to its best start since going 28-0 in the 1988-89 season.

Carol Smith contributed 10 points and Shera Looney had nine and five rebounds as the Lady Tigers shot 52 percent (26-for-50) from the field, despite going just 2-of-12 from 3-point range.

Reshea Bristol had 20 points and six assists for Arizona (7-2), which had its winning streak stopped at six games.

Krista Warren scored 13 points and Tysell Bozeman and Michelle Mitchell chipped in 10 points apiece while pulling down seven and eight rebounds, respectively, for the Wildcats, who shot 41.5 percent (27-for-65). They made just 5-of-24 shots (20 percent) from beyond the arc.
