BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Doneeka Hodges had 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench and Marie Ferdinand added 13 points to lead No. 16 Louisiana State to a 79-32 romp over Prairie View.

Reserves Ke-Ke Hardy and April Brown each scored 11 points for Louisiana State (7-3), which shot 50 percent (28-of-57) in the first half and built a 41-15 lead.

Pressy Elogado scored nine points, but committed 11 turnovers for Prairie View (3-5). The Pantherettes lost the ball 26 times and had just eight assists.

Tanisha Lee, who had seven points and nine rebounds, made a jumper to pull Prairie View within 10-8 with 13:43 to go in the first half. Brown answered with a free throw one minute later to trigger a 10-0 run. Hodges had seven points, including the bakset that capped the spurt 7:43 before halftime.

Prairie View missed six shots and had five turnovers before Monica Grass' basket cut the deficit to 20-10 with 7:15 to go in the first. Again the Tigers answered with 10 straight points to stretch their leading margin to 30-10 on Ferdinand's layup with just under five minutes to play.

Lee made a jumper 46 seconds into the second half, but Ferdinand answered with a free throw with 18:44 left.
