BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Sophomore center LaRue Schuye is known for giving opponents fits with her 3-point shooting. Today she didn't have to.

The 6-3 sophomore did her damage in the post, scoring 26 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and making five steals to lead No. 15 Virginia to a 67-46 victory over Loyola of Maryland.

Schuye, already considered one of the best players in the nation after leading the Atlantic Coast Conference in field goal percentage as a freshman, hit 12-of-17 from the floor today. She did not attempt a 3-pointer, though she often uses the threat of her long-range sniping to open the door for her drives to the basket.

Belarussian forward Svetlana Volnaya contributed 12 points, two blocks and two steals, and Telisha Quarles added eight points, three assists and three steals for the Cavaliers (3-2).

Virginia was coming off back-to-back losses to No. 9 Louisiana Tech and Texas.

Erica Rath and Sherika Wilson scored eight points apiece to lead the Greyhounds (1-2), who shot just 27 percent (13-of-48) from the field.

Schuye scored Virginia's first eight points and the Cavaliers led 35-17 at the half. The Greyhounds went on a 13-2 run midway through the second half to come within 52-39 with 4:44 to play.

Quarles squashed the threat with a 3-pointer, and Virginia cruised to the victory.
