AUBURN, Alabama (Ticker) -- LeCoe Willingham scored 11 of her 13 points in a lopsided first half and finished with 10 rebounds as ninth-ranked Auburn coasted to its sixth straight win, 85-56 over Coppin State. Willingham played only 24 minutes and made 4-of-6 shots from the field and 5-of-5 from the line. Shana Askew scored 12 points and Lori Nero had 12 off the bench for the Lady Tigers (11-1), who open the Southeastern Conference season on January 6 at Kentucky. Nakeisha Williams led all scorers with 18 points off the bench for Coppin State (4-8), which has lost five of its last six games. The Eagles shot 26 percent (7-of-27) in the first half and fell behind at intermission, 40-18. Coppin State starters made only 7-of-45 shots overall. Auburn connected on 57 percent of its shots (29-of-51) and had a 40-28 rebounding advantage. Both teams were sloppy, with the Lady Tigers committing 28 turnovers and forcing 30.
