DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Georgia Schweitzer scored 22 points and Peppi Browne added 14 to reach the 1,000-point plateau for her career as Duke (No. 11 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) routed George Mason 95-56 on Tuesday night.
West scored all of her points in the second half, as Duke opened with a 16-0 run to move ahead 55-22 and put the game away. Browne scored 10 points in the first five minutes of the second half and became the 12th Blue Devil to break the 1,000-point barrier. Duke never trailed as Schweitzer hit three 3-pointers in as many minutes during the first half. She had 15 points at the break as the Blue Devils led 39-22. Jen Surlas led George Mason (4-6) with 23 points, while Trish Halpin and Jill Regan added 10 apiece. Duke shot 55 percent from the field for the game while outrebounding the Patriots 41-28. The Blue Devils scored 22 points off 20 Patriot turnovers.
