SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) -- Kayte Christensen scored 17 of her 19 points in the second half as UC Santa Barbara beat Oregon 74-61 Monday night. Christensen also had 11 rebounds. Stacy Clinesmith added 14 points and eight assists, and Erin Buescher had 12 points. Christensen helped Santa Barbara (5-3) take a 44-40 lead with 10:49 remaining, and the Gauchos (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 23 Associated Press) stretched it to 16 at 72-56 with Oregon center Jenny Mowe on the bench because of foul trouble. Mowe, who finished with eight block shots and seven points, was limited to 10 minutes in the second half. Shaquala Williams led Oregon (6-2) with 18 points, and Lindsey Dion added 15. In the final 2:30 of the first half, the teams traded baskets, but the Gauchos outscored the Ducks 9-1 to take a 33-27 halftime lead. Trailing 17-6 with 11:44 remaining in the first half, UCSB stormed back, led by Nicole Greathouse, who hit a 3-pointer and scored six points in the run. The Gauchos had 10 unanswered points to pull within 17-16. Williams scored the next four points for Oregon (No. 14 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) as the Ducks built the lead back to 21-16. UCSB tied 21-21 on Greathouse's 3-pointer with 4:32 remaining in the half. Oregon outshot and outrebounded UCSB but also committed 22
turnovers. The Gauchos had a 13-point advantage from free throw line.
