OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Angela Timmons' free throw in the closing seconds lifted Creighton to a 55-54 victory over Kansas (No. 15 ESPN/USA Today, No. 14 AP) on Tuesday night. With the game tied at 54, Timmons hit one of two free throws after getting fouled by Jaclyn Johnson. The Bluejays' Tanya Cenac grabbed the missed free throw as Creighton ran out the clock. Timmons had given the Blue Jays a 54-52 lead moments early before Kansas' Lynn Pride tied the game on a jumpshot. Pride led Kansas (5-1) with 25 points. Creighton (3-2) shot just 35 percent from the field and was outrebounded 47-32, but forced Kansas into 22 turnovers.
