BOX SCORE
BOSTON (AP) -- Becky Gottstein had 26 points and Kim Mackie added 17, both career-highs, as Boston College (No. 24 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) coasted to a 83-70 victory over Kent on Saturday. Cal Bouchard scored 17 points and Alissa Murphy had 11 for the Eagles (5-3), who had lost three of their last four games. Dawn Zerman led Kent (3-3) with 22 points and Alana Bader had 20. The Golden Flashes don't play their home opener until Dec. 20, their eighth game. Boston College broke the game open by scoring the first 16 points of the second half. The run was capped by Bouchard's three-point play just under four minutes into the half. After opening a 54-28 lead, the Eagles were never threatened. They led by 33 before Kent closed it to 76-62 with just over three minutes left. The closest the Golden Flashes got was the final score on a basket at the buzzer. Boston College's frontline dominated in the first half as Gottstein had 14, Mackie 12 and Murphy six as they combined for all but six points as the Eagles took a 38-28 halftime lead. | ALSO SEE Womens College Basketball Scoreboard
