TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona's (No. 23 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) 86-76 upset of Santa Barbara (No. 9 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) wasn't fully satisfying for the Wildcats' Julie Brase.

"I think we started to celebrate too much with 12 minutes to go when we got the big lead," said Brase, who helped ice the victory in the final minutes. "I don't think we should have let them get back into the game.

UC-Santa Barbara's Kristi Rohr, left, tries to get past the pressing defense of Arizona's Tatum Brown.

Tatum Brown scored 21 points and -- taking advantage of her own offensive rebounds, poured in 13 of them in the second half as Arizona (5-0) took a 68-52 lead and ran a 12-2 stretch.

"Tatum Brown was incredible," Arizona coach Joan Bonvicini said. "She had an unbelievable game."

Santa Barbara (3-2) went on a 12-1 spurt behind a pair of buckets from Kayte Christensen, but a Brase 3-pointer halted the Gauchos' momentum. Brase added two free throws to put Arizona ahead by 10 with 4:31 left.

Santa Barbara pulled to 80-76 with 1:17 remaining on a turnaround jumper from Christensen, but Reshea Bristol made two free throws and Brown broke free for an uncontested layup to seal the Arizona win.

"We would battle back and get close, and then they would take the lead again and then we would battle back again," said Santa Barbara's Stacy Clinesmith, who posted 15 points. "We need to do a better job of battling when we are on the road."

Brown snagged seven rebounds and finished with nine of 12 shots from the field. Brase added 14 points for Arizona and Bristol added 10.

Erin Buescher was Santa Barbara's high-scorer with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Christensen added 14 points.
