TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Elizabeth Pickney scored 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting as 24th-ranked Arizona opened its season with a 75-59 triumph over Oklahoma in the Hawaiian Regent Classic. Pickney also grabbed nine rebounds for Arizona (1-0), which will face Tennessee Tech on Saturday and Hawaii on Sunday in this tournament, which features predetermined pairings. Tatum Brown scored 12 points and Monika Crank added 11. The Wildcats shot 50 percent (26-of-52) from the floor, including 54 percent (14-of-26) in the second half when they outscored the Sooners, 42-29. Stacey Dales scored 19 points and All-Big 12 candidate Phylesha Whaley added 17 and 11 rebounds for Oklahoma (0-1), which made just 36 percent (22-of-61) of its shots. Whaley and Caton Hill each grabbed four offensive rebounds as Oklahoma held a 17-13 advantage on the offensive glass. The Sooners battle Hawaii on Saturday and Tennessee Tech on Sunday.
