DENVER (AP) -- Some might think No. 4 Louisiana Tech would be short on motivation after having already clinched the Sun Belt Conference regular season title.

"Guess again," guard Tamicha Jackson said. "We're playing with a gun to our head because every night we are playing for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament."

Jackson and Betty Lennox each scored 20 points as Louisiana Tech used a 20-0 opening run to win their 13th straight game, a 92-48 rout of Denver on Saturday night.

"Last year we went West and we didn't think we would ever come back," Jackson said. "This year, we want to play closer to home."

Takeisha Lewis added 14 points and 11 rebounds and Christie Sides had 14 points, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range, for Louisiana Tech (23-2, 14-0).

The Lady Techsters, who last lost on Jan. 2 to Connecticut and have already clinched an eighth consecutive conference title, beat Denver 90-45 on Jan. 31.

"We are all aware that the pairings go out on March 12th," said acting coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson, who coached the team because Leon Barmore was out with an undisclosed illness. "We want to play our best game, which is based on hard-nosed defense and points off deflections and turnovers."

Michaela Pavlickova led Denver (16-8, 10-4) with 10 points and had seven rebounds. Lika Black added nine points for the Pioneers, who had their five-game winning streak snapped.

Louisiana Tech didn't allow a point for the first 6:05. Sides hit a pair of 3-pointers, and Jackson and Lewis scored six points each to build a 20-0 lead.

Misty Station ended Denver's miserable start, which consisted of 0-for-8 shooting from the field and three turnovers, with a basket off the dribble to start a 6-0 run that included a basket by Bethie Younger and two free throws by Black.

"We were scared," Denver coach Pam Tanner said. "Anyone would be playing a team that hadn't lost a conference game in nearly forever."

Tech's conference winning streak reached 35 at the expense of Denver, which was 5-for-39 from the field and had 12 turnovers. The Pioneers managed only seven points the rest of the half, with the last point coming on a free throw by Candy Benson with 7:04.

Already leading 36-13, the Lady Techsters closed the half with a 13-0 run that included the third 3-pointer by Sides. Louisiana Tech shot 61 percent and led 49-13 at halftime.

The Lady Techsters increased their lead to 58-18 four minutes into the second half on a 3-pointer by Sides and Lennox's two free throws. Catrina Frierson's basket off a rare miss with 11:15 left put Louisiana Tech ahead 73-31.
