LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- Lynn Pride scored five of her 15 points during a decisive first-half run as 24th-ranked Kansas continued its recent mastery of Kansas State with a 61-43 Big 12 Conference victory. Pride nailed a 3-pointer with just under seven minutes to play in the first half, then capped the 14-2 burst with a layup to give the Jayhawks (19-6, 10-3 Big 12) a 28-16 lead with 3:18 left. Kansas State got no closer than 10 points thereafter and trailed by as many as 26 in the second half. Jaclyn Johnson scored 16 points and Pride finished with 15 for Kansas, which has taken 17 of the last 21 meetings from its intrastate rival. The Jayhawks also got 14 points from Suzi Raymant and 10 from Jennifer Jackson en route to their seventh win in eight games overall. Nicky Ramage had 13 points and five rebounds and Kim Woodlee scored 11 points for the Wildcats (12-14, 5-8), who have lost six of their last eight contests. Olga Firsova chipped in 10 points and 15 rebounds off the bench, but Kansas State shot under 36 percent (16-of-45) and committed 24 turnovers. Kansas shot 41 percent (26-of-63) and scored 23 points off the Wildcats' miscues.
