STORRS, Conn. (AP) -- Shooting over Connecticut center Kelly Schumacher is more than enough to fire her up. After Miami's Alicia Hartlaub made a couple of buckets over Schumacher, the 6-foot-5 junior countered with a career-high six blocks Tuesday as top-ranked Connecticut routed Miami 93-46. "I don't like her shooting over me," Schumacher said. "I definitely don't like that." Subbing for center Paige Sauer, out with a sprained right foot, Schumacher was one of four Huskies with six rebounds. She also had eight points and one assist. "Intensity's not a problem with her," Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma after Schumacher's second start this season. Her last start was Nov. 21 in the regular season opener against Iowa. She was held scoreless and finished with three rebounds and one block. "Recently I've been playing a lot better so I'm more confident right now," she said. While Schumacher shut down the middle, the Huskies' speedy transition game quickly outdistanced the overmatched Hurricanes. Connecticut (21-1, 10-0 Big East) scored 30 points off the fast break. Stacy Hansmeyer had five of Connecticut's 11 steals. The Huskies outrebounded the Hurricanes 43-29. Miami (9-12, 3-7) took a 5-3 lead in the first three minutes before the Huskies got untracked with a 21-6 run. Svetlana Abrosimova capped the spurt with a 3-pointer with 11:36 left. Abrosimova had 14 of her 19 points in the first half as the Huskies took a 55-22 lead at the break. The second half was much the same as Connecticut scored the first three baskets of the half off transition. "Their transition game was fantastic tonight," Miami coach Fern Labati said. "Their fundamentals are sound. They are very, very versatile." Asjha Jones and Shea Ralph had 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Connecticut.
