AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- After the week Georgia had, coach Andy Landers didn't have to be modest. "We are as good as anyone in the country right now," Landers said after his seventh-ranked Lady Bulldogs beat No. 10 Auburn 68-54 Sunday. "We do have some habits we need to break, though." Georgia (19-2, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) beat No. 2 Tennessee 78-51 Monday and defeated Georgia Tech 86-58 Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs scored the game's first 12 points. Auburn (15-3, 4-2) never got closer than seven points after that. "I have never seen a team come out and shoot any better than Georgia did in the first five minutes," Tigers coach Joe Ciampi said. "They execute the way that a Final Four team has to execute." "Once we get going in the beginning of a game, it is hard for other teams," Georgia's Deana Nolan said. Kelly Miller had 19 points and seven assists for Georgia. Nolan added 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Tawana McDonald scored nine points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked five shots. Angie Ball had 10 points. The Lady Bulldogs shot 48 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 37-28 lead, going 5-for-9 from 3-point range. "Once we got the lead," Landers said, "our players were spectacular at moving the ball and finding the open shot." Conswella Sparrow scored 13 points, LeCoe Willingham had 11 points and 12 rebounds and Jackie Pugh added 10 points for Auburn.
The Lady Bulldogs held a 42-34 rebounding edge.
