NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Lucienne Berthieu scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, leading No. 16 Old Dominion past George Mason 88-65 Sunday. Berthieu led five Lady Monarchs in double figures. George Mason (7-13, 3-6 Colonial Athletic Association) was led by Shelbylynn McBride's career-high 17 points. Old Dominion (16-4, 9-0) led 31-20 after a 10-0 run with 2:28 to play in the first half, but then allowed the Patriots to pull within five before finishing the half with a 35-26 lead. In the second half, the Patriots twice cut Old Dominion's lead to four points, the last time with 17:06 left. But Jen Surlas, who scored 16 points for George Mason and made three of the Patriots' five 3-pointers, picked up her fourth foul with 15:41 remaining. After that, the Lady Monarchs went on a 14-7 run for a commanding 61-44 lead. Old Dominion shot 60.6 percent from the floor in the second half. Natalie Diaz scored 17 points and Hamchetou Maiga had 12. Sharron Francis and Okeisha Howard scored 10 each.
Chrissy Todd scored 14 points for George Mason.
