PALO ALTO, California (Ticker) -- Jamie Carey scored seven of her 10 points during a decisive first-half run as 25th-ranked Stanford cruised to its fourth straight victory, 83-57 over slumping Pac-10 Conference foe California. Carey converted a four-point play and added another 3-pointer during the spurt as Stanford (11-4, 4-1 Pac-10) opened a 20-2 lead just 7:16 into the contest. Lindsey Yamasaki scored 12 points in the opening 20 minutes as the Cardinal led, 43-20, and helped deal the Golden Bears their seventh straight loss. Stanford, which pulled within one-half game of UCLA for the conference lead, shot 50 percent (14-of-28) in the first half while limiting California (5-10, 0-5) to 23 percent (7-of-30). Yamasaki scored 17 points, Milena Flores added 12, Carolyn Moos 11 and Bethany Donaphin 11 and 11 rebounds for Stanford, which shot 55 percent (31-of-56) overall. Flores hit a jumper to give the Cardinal their biggest lead, 65-33, with 10:02 remaining. Shavaki Jackson and Kenya Corley scored 15 points apiece and Lauren Ashbaugh added 10 for California, which shot just 32 percent (19-of-59) from the floor and 2-of-17 from 3-point range.
