LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Marie Ferdinand scored six of her 17 points in a decisive first-half run as 15th-ranked Louisiana State posted a 66-59 Southeastern Conference victory over Kentucky. Ferdinand made two free throws with 10:02 to go in the first half, putting LSU ahead for good, 17-16, and triggering a 16-3 spurt. Katrina Hibbert nailed a 3-pointer and Ferdinand had two more baskets during the outburst, which built a 31-19 cushion with 4:36 left before halftime. April Brown led the Fighting Tigers (13-3, 4-1 SEC) with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Hibbert finished with 13 points and six rebounds as LSU shot 47 percent (26-of-55). Shantia Owens made 9-of-13 shots and scored 23 points for Kentucky (11-6, 3-2), which fell to 5-2 at home.
