BOX SCORE
CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- Shaquala Williams scored 25 points as 24th-ranked Oregon opened Pac-10 Conference play with a 68-51 victory over Oregon State. Williams was 8-of-18 from the field, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range, as the Ducks (10-3, 1-0 Pac-10) rebounded from Sunday's 66-60 loss at San Francisco. Oregon posted its second win over Oregon State in as many weeks, recording a 60-51 non-conference victory on December 21. The archrivals will meet again in Eugene on March 10 in the regular-season finale. After trailing 34-28 at halftime, Oregon State (4-9, 0-1) closed within 38-37 on two free throws by Sissie Pierce. But Oregon never relinquished the lead as Nicole Strange and Williams each hit a pair from the line to make it 42-37 with 13:08 to play. Williams made two more free throws to cap a 10-2 spurt and give Oregon a commanding 63-49 lead with 2:22 remaining. Brianne Meharry and Strange scored 12 points apiece for Oregon, which opened a 30-20 advantage on Strange's jumper with 4:54 left in the first half. Felicia Ragland and Pierce had 17 points apiece for the Beavers, who have dropped two in a row and six of their last seven games.
