 WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- Lucienne Berthieu scored 17 points and Natalie Diaz added 16 to lead Old Dominion (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) to an 84-65 victory over North Carolina-Wilmington on Friday in a Colonial Athletic Association opener. The Lady Monarchs (8-3) got 12 points from Kim Giddens and 11 rebounds from Tanty Maiga. North Carolina-Wilmington (7-5) was led by LaTonia Beale with 16 points. Chandra Watkins scored 10 points, and Ioulia Boxley added nine points and 13 rebounds. The teams battled to a 39-39 draw on the boards, but Old Dominion shot 54 percent from the field while holding the Seahawks to 38 percent. Old Dominion shot 63 percent in the first half, hitting 4-of-6 3-pointers, to lead 44-31 at halftime.
