Two of Peter Warrick's main challengers stumbled Saturday, helping the Florida State receiver widen his lead. But he should keep an eye cast over his shoulder for hard-charging Drew Brees.
Brees, who threw a Big Ten-record 99-yard touchdown pass to Vinny Sutherland, has the Boilermakers knocking on the door of the top 10. Next week's clash against Michigan will give Brees the type of stage upon which Heisman Trophies are won.
It won't come easy for Brees, however. The Wolverine defense derailed Ron Dayne's Heisman hopes by shutting him out in the second half of Michigan's 21-16 win Saturday. The boys in maize and blue would like nothing more than to do the same to Brees when he comes to the Big House next week.
