Coach (David Cutcliffe) tried to get us to improve tremendously from the Memphis game. The offense stalled too many times in that game and we didn't pile up enough yards. We tried to come out this past Saturday and prove something to ourselves and to the public.

We knew the defense would hold its own just like the week before. We wanted to come out and have a good showing, and get ready for our first SEC game (Vanderbilt on Saturday).

Run-blocking improved tremendously. The whole offensive line did great. We dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and that's what wins ball games. Personally, I felt I improved 100 percent from the first game, and I look forward to carrying that improvement into the Vanderbilt game.

Vanderbilt's personnel will be stronger and faster than what we saw last week. The last couple of defenses we've faced have been similar to Vanderbilt, so there won't be much change in what we've been trying to do offensively.

We look forward to the game because we'll face our first SEC opponent of the year. If we want to win the SEC West, than we have to win this game. This is the first step in that process.
