| Friday, August 25 Which conference is the best? | ||||||||||||||
We asked which conference was the best and it was a a mailbag full of Big Ten, SEC and Big 12 backers. Here are a few samples:
"I think the Big Ten is the best conference in the nation. The teams play tough non-conference schedules (Notre Dame, Nebraska, and USC). They have one of the hardest conference schedules in the country where the teams just beat up on each other. Big linemen and tough defense is the tradition of the Big Ten and now they are adding impressive quarterbacks to the resume. In bowl games the past two years they have handed it to the SEC and this speaks volumes as I believe the SEC was the premier conference three years ago." Emily Carder Augusta, Ga.
George Harper Atlanta "The SEC is the best. I don't think any Big Ten team could survive playing Florida and Alabama year after year." Tom Bradshaw Knoxville, Tenn. "By far the Big Ten is the best conference. The only reason they only have one national title is because they beat up each other so much that they knock each other off during the regular season. If you put any of the Big Ten's top three teams in the SEC, they would go undefeated." Tyrone Jones Fort Bragg, N.C. "What counts in college football? Heisman Trophies? No. Non-conference records? No. National championships? Yes. That is why the SEC is the best and hardest conference." Jason Ralph Boone, N.C.
Brian Karp Baltimore "The SEC is the best conference around. Always has been. Always will be." Andrew Hill Hartsville, Tenn. "The Big 12 is without doubt the most superior of all conferences in the whole world. With Nebraska leading the pack, they can stomp on anyone, anytime, anywhere...including the Seminoles." John Steel Indianapolis "There really is NO argument here. Both are great conferences...but the Big Ten just has the tools from top to bottom. No game in the big ten is easy yet some SEC games are "sure things". Was that hard? Tom O'Brien Miami | ALSO SEE User feedback: The Heisman Watch |
