DE KALB, Ill. (AP) _ Chris Finlen passed for 229 yards and two touchdowns Saturday in leading Northern Illinois to a 30-23 victory over Eastern Michigan in the season-ending game for both teams. Northern Illinois' Huskies (5-6, 5-3 Mid-American) finished with their best record since 1992 when they were also 5-6. Eastern Michigan's Eagles (4-7, 4-4) fell behind 27-9 before staging a fourth-quarter rally. Lincoln Dupree ran a kickoff back a school record 100 yards to cut the deficit 27-16 and Reggie Gage ran 1 yard for the game's final score. Finlen, who was 11-of-18 passing, hit Darrell Hill with a school record 96-yard scoring pass in the third quarter. William Andrews ran 37 times for 154 yards and a TD, and Kent Baker kicked field goals of 27, 49 and 41 for Northern Illinois. Eagles quarterback Troy Edwards was 13-of-23 passing for 141 yards. He threw an interception and was sacked once.
Seven seniors played their last home game for the Huskies.
