MACOMB, Ill. (AP) _ Charles Tharp rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown Saturday as Western Illinois shutout Drake 24-0.

Drake's Bulldogs (7-4) were held to 77 yards on the ground and 147 in the air. Ira Vandever was 12-of-27 passing with two interceptions and three sacks. Aaron Overton caught seven passes for 117 yards.

The Leathernecks (7-4), still hoping for a Div.-AA playoff spot, gained 236 yards rushing and 110 passing. They had six fumbles and lost two of them.

Mark Zanders was 9-of-15 passing for 83 yards and a TD. He hit J.R. Niklos for a 22-yard scoring play to give the Leathernecks a 7-0 lead in the opening quarter. Jim Mitchell and Bobby Starks also saw action at quarterback for Western Illinois, which completed its scoring in the third period on Bob Kucka's 1-yard run.
