BURLINGTON, N.C. (AP) _ Steven Ferguson rushed for 133 yards and Derrick Moore added another 129 yards rushing as Elon beat Morehead State 41-6 on Saturday.

The victory marked the most wins in a season by the Fightin' Christians (9-2) since 1981.

Ferguson surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark, finishing the game with 1,003.

Elon led 17-0 at halftime after a 30-yard field goal by Jim Willis, a 12-yard touchdown run by Addison Houston, and a 7-yard scoring pass from Moore to Rae Brown.

A 13-yard run by Moore and a 7-yard run by Eric Jones boosted the margin to 31-0 before the Eagles (5-4) got their only score of the game on a 7-yard run by Mark Stephens with 3:18 left in the third quarter.

Eagles quarterback David Dinkins completed eight of 19 passes for 144 yards and added 82 yards rushing on 26 carries.
