MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) _ Vic Penn passed for two touchdowns and ran for two more Saturday night to lead Central Florida to a 39-14 victory against Middle Tennessee.

Penn got three of his touchdowns in the second quarter as Central Florida (4-6) jumped to a 24-7 halftime lead. He finished with 122 yards rushing and 208 passing.

Central Florida was trailing 7-3 after one quarter before Penn threw touchdown passes to Tyson Hinshaw and Kenny Clark. He finished the quarter running five yards for a touchdown with 25 seconds left.

Wes Counts threw two TD passes for Middle Tennessee (2-8), a 44-yarder to Tyrone Calico to open the scoring in the first quarter and a 48-yarder to Kendall Newson early in the fourth quarter.

Javier Beorlegui kicked two field goals for Central Florida.

Central Florida rushed for 323 yards, compared with 48 for Middle Tennessee.
