MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) _ David Dinkins scored four touchdowns and Nicholas Wooldridge added two more as Morehead State defeated Austin Peay 47-7 Saturday. The Eagles (4-3) jumped out to an early 14-0 lead when Dinkins scored his first touchdowns just 3:33 into the first quarter. He then rushed for another touchdown three minutes later. Austin Peay (3-5) ended the first quarter with its only score of the game, a 14-yard touchdown pass from Brian Baker to Ron Blair with 58 seconds remaining. Morehead commanded the game during the second quarter, scoring four times for 26 points. Wooldridge scored first on a 20-yard run at 14:31, but the kick was blocked. Dinkins then added touchdowns of 20 and 6 yards. Running back Tony Wilson then converted a pass from Dinkins into a 51-yard touchdown, but a failed kick gave the Eagles a 41-7 halftime lead. The Eagle offense sputtered in a second half marked by only one score. A 51-yard run by Wooldridge and another failed kick with 8:07 left to play in the third quarter set the final score of 47-7. The Eagles fumbled during two fourth-quarter possessions.
